Mybe this will help her, what if she knew about the car didnt turn him in and a week later he went to jail for a far worse crime for a way longer period of time! Sometimes a little good CAN go a long way, and if more of our family members would step up and snitch then maybe we would be more accountable for our actions! Now as for you, i think you should be happy that your friend is learning lesson for the both of you and hopefully this lesson will bring him to a place where you both will be freinds for a long time(face to face):)

You friend made the choices he did and now he will be punished for it. His sister did not make him drive the car to school so she should not be blaming herself.

Hopefully, he will have learnt his lesson this time and it will make him more wary of breaking the law in future.

You can only be there as a supportive friend for both of them. Write to him in jail and continue to support his sister through his time in jail.

There is not a lot else you can do for them at the moment. Good luck.
