It's usually a very awkward sitation because they're not quite sure what to say, but there are a few guys who do know what to say, they're just rare though.

Many of them see it as a sign of weakness. And I think it makes a lot of them feel uncomfortable. Since many of them have never cried over emotional things they don't know what to do to console a girl.

well does anybody like it when somone cries? some guys just arent good when people cry.. others may have alot of sisters and know how to comfort them.. but nobody likes when somone they know is hurt enough to cry

They don't know what to do and/or say. It makes them uncomfortable & they feel awkward & weird.

the same reason i don't like it when girls cry [i'm a girl].
1. they don't know how to act. its awkward.
2. they don't understand and don't want to comfort you in case you lash out ['cause girls are emotional and have mood swings].
3. they want to comfort you, but don't want to imply that they like you [if they do, or don't].
4. they don't like to see you sad, they love your smile.
