I'm interested in Inuyasha, so any fans out there.. What is your opinion on the anime [subbed AND dubbed] and/or manga? Which one appeals to you? I'm nearly done watching it, and I may consider reading the manga. I'm not quite sure yet, I just want some opinions & how it differentiates between the other. What does it focus on more? Romance? Demons?
If you don't like manga or anime, your opinion wouldn't be needed :] Thanks!
Also, is there any other anime similar to Inuyasha? *That isn't playing on Adult swim [those do not interest me]

But I used to be a huge anime geek and...still am, really (I hate to admit this in public, though). Fushigi Yuugi is a great manga by Yu Watase, if you like shoujo at all. It's about a young girl, Miaka, who gets sucked into a magical version of ancient China through a book. Sounds a lot like Kagome's story, huh? However, there are a lot of differences and in my opinion much better than Inu Yasha. I don't think it's on television at all, but you can buy the DVDs or tapes. I have some of the subbed tapes, and I really recommend the subbed versions of any anime.
There's also Slayers...and other series by Rumiko Takahashi (the one who made Inu Yasha), such as Ranma 1/2 (I warn you, though, this is loooong. I never finished!) [ thefish's advice column | Ask thefish A Question ]

I prefer all my anime subbed with a few exceptions (Kenshin, trigun, cowboy bebop, tenchi are notables)
Manga is awesome. Its always good to read because while the action in animation is always sweet, the manga often goes more into the backstory.
Similar to Inuyasha? None that I can think of. If you like the swordplay, you might like Kenshin alot, and Cowboy Bebop IS an instant classic.
Other great Anime that I can reccomend. Bleach. Bleach is amazing. I really like naruto if you havent seen it. Dai-Guard is another good one. I know alot of people who like Initial D (a racing anime, I am not a huge fan) and hmm. I'm trying to think of more that involve alot of swordplay or powers. Ronin Warriors is old as hell but fun to watch.
Ohh. Yu Yu Hakusho. Its set in modern times but its about demons. One of my favorites, I cant believe I almost forgot it.
Sorry, you called out my inner anime nerd. I have more if you want them. Google Mininova or the pirate bay for some good sites to search torrent links for anime. www.dattebayo.com has bleach and naruto, though for the first 100 or so episodes of either you might have to google "________ torrent"

I actually like the manga better because then I don't have to stay up until 2:00 a.m to see it! haha. My opinion on Adult Swim is, they have really good anime, but if you don't like it... But in case you change yer mind... I like Naruto da best. First, because Itachi is... REALLY... hott. Anyway, um, Bleach and Inuyasha and another one... I forgot it's name, haha aren't I a smart one? Usually the anime is better, but the manga can be just the same. I hope this helped at least a bit! ^/_^ [ bitchyXemoXadivceXchick's advice column | Ask bitchyXemoXadivceXchick A Question ]
