Question Posted Wednesday October 31 2007, 6:09 pm
nearly every day for the past two weeks i've had severe migraines. I'm used to getting pretty bad ones, but not for 2 weeks in a row. I know i have to go see a doctor about them, but until then anyone know why this could be happening? Does stress cause migraines? And what can i do to ease the pain a bit? because there's only so much aspirin i can get, and i'm in school so its not like i can just drop everything and go to sleep every time this happens.

In the meantime, try a different medication (not at the same time). With my migraines, if I take Tylenol I might as well have swallowed water. Does NOTHING. The only thing that works for me is Advil. So it might be the same thing for you.
Ice also helps. If you have flexible ice packs, like the ones you use on a sprained ankle and such, those work AMAZING. If you're in school, tru gently massaging your temples (slightly above your eyebrows, along the sides of your head) and shielding your eyes from light, if possible. Also drink water if your school allows it.

You are correct you do need to see your doctor about them as there are many causes, stress is one of them, and may need investigation.
I've included a website that gives you more information on what causes them and ideas on how to manage and relieve them.
