I really want a pet

Question Posted Wednesday October 31 2007, 6:07 pm

i want to get a pet but my mum thinks they are too much responsibility. I am desperate but maybe i should start with something not so challenging I know she would let me have a cat or dog because the cost a lot of money to keep and you have to worry about them and things. Any suggestions on what i could have. Not a rat because im scared of them and not a fish because theyre boring...
thankz

Well, with any pet, you have to worry and take great care of them. Aww why are you scared of rats? I have two- they're great! They're so sweet and loving. But if you don't want a rat, that's fine. haha. Umm.. do you like lizards? You could get anoles- they're really small, cute lizards that you can most likely find at your pet store. I had them before and I loved em. You do have to feed them live food, though. But if you're interested in them, you can look up more information online :) Or maybe you can get a bird? Whatever you end up getting, please take good care of it and good luck! :)

But really, no matter what pet you have -- you have to worry about them and take care of them. I have dogs and don't understand why people buy pets if they don't want to take care of them, so please don't turn into one of those people. =)

i think a fish is the only thing low maintenence but you could try a hampster or a turtle if cleaning out a cage doesnt bother you. or just ask an employee at the pet store for assistance on finding a low-responsibility pet that is affordable. best of luck!!
