time between submitting application and getting letter, if a

Maybe this is a dumb question, and I know I'm definitely a super-impatient person, but how long does it normally take for you to get your letter of acceptance or declination from a college or university after applying?!
S_C answered Wednesday October 24 2007, 4:48 pm: It really all depends. I just submitted my application to ASU and I won't hear back from them until January =(.
Some colleges will let you know in two weeks; those are usually the smaller colleges with less people applying to them.
Other colleges will take 2 months; those are the bigger colleges with a lot of mail to sort through.
If you go to the college website (Just do a google search for it) it will tell you that if you have your application submitted by a certain date then they will have their answer to you by a certain date. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
