time between submitting application and getting letter, if a

Question Posted Tuesday October 23 2007, 10:18 pm

Maybe this is a dumb question, and I know I'm definitely a super-impatient person, but how long does it normally take for you to get your letter of acceptance or declination from a college or university after applying?!

thanks!

If you apply in the summer, you usually here back from them anytime between October and January. The average amount of time it takes is about 12 weeks.

It really all depends. I just submitted my application to ASU and I won't hear back from them until January =(.
Some colleges will let you know in two weeks; those are usually the smaller colleges with less people applying to them.
Other colleges will take 2 months; those are the bigger colleges with a lot of mail to sort through.

If you go to the college website (Just do a google search for it) it will tell you that if you have your application submitted by a certain date then they will have their answer to you by a certain date.

I can look it up for you, just drop one in my inbox. The college/university's website should tell you when they will send the decisions back.
