Question Posted Sunday October 21 2007, 5:10 pm

Ok so I'm a 15 f and i'm 36 weeks, 1 day pregnant today. My due date isnt until novemeber 17th but I was wondering if there was any way I could schedule a C-section before hand so I won't have to go threw giving birth and I could have my baby home sooner. Please answer fast I need to know. Thanks.

Love, Amanda.

if you have c-section: you have to wait in the hospital about a day longer. give birth! or just ask the doctor. but it leaves a big scar on your stomach and it hurts really bad.

You can schedual a c-section. You will need to talk to your doctor though. I know that for me natural birth was easier. It really dose not matter on which way you give the birth on the amount of time it take to get your baby home. Rember that the c-section will leave a nasty scar too! That was one of the reasons that i had natural births until my last child was born I had a c-section because she was a pre mature child. Honestly do not listen to the person below me about who your parents are and stuff, I know where your comming from i had my first kid when I was in high school, I was 17 though. You will learn a lot and at times it will be hard. But it really isnt anyones fault. And your parents are probally really good for you. If you need any help with anything, feel free to ask! I have been in your position before.

good luck and congradulations, hope everythin goes well
Sarah!

okay, look, amanda, i dont know who your parents are, or where they are, (gardians) but, should you really be having sex at age 15? i dont think so. But, i think that you should have waited, but, as of right now, id go with whatever makes you happy.

I honestly agree with YG. C-Sections are only available if there's a complication with giving birth the regular way. If there are no complications, you canno request something completely unncessary. Besides, that's a surgery they do NOT put you asleep for, so you see them open you open & whatever. It's gross.

You're better off giving birth the natural way. C-Sections are waste of money if not needed.

You can get a C-section if you want to. There is no need for complications. It is personal choice. While some woman like natural birth others like C-sections. Discuss your options with a parent or doctor, but yes it is more than possible and the sooner you contact your doctor the better chance you have.

I'm not positive the person below me is right. While insurance probably won't pay for it and doctor's won't nessacarily want to use that option, you can schedule a C-Section. For example, I believe Angelina Jolie opted for a C-Section instead of natural birth. I don't believe you can be outright denied this option just because it isnt nessacary, but you should deffinitely ask your doctor about it.
edit:
Coincedentally, I came into this conversation with a health teacher. Having a C-Section is your choice and no one elses, a doctor can't stop you, but mind that they will not want to do it. Doing that involves risk that any surgery would have, and it is cutting through muscle and nerves, leaving you permanantly weak in that area (and can leave you with a permanant numbness). Vaginal child birth is natural and has been done since Adam and Eve, and right now, seems like the safer option.

Unless there are complications with the birth you will not get a c-section. They cost a lot of money and insurance companies frown on paying for unnecessary surgery. So no. unless your doctor has said you need a c-section, you have to go through the birth naturally. :)
