Getting Rid of Tummy Flub

Question Posted Friday October 19 2007, 1:27 am

I'm not one to be too concerned about my figure- seriously, I don't care if I don't have a bikini bod, and hardly ever watch what I eat too closely. But recently (last few months or so) my stomach has gotten pretty flabby. I'm also beginning to get more concerned about my health...so of course, I should eat more veggies, grains, protein, etc.. But As a health and fitness concern, what exersizes can I do to tone my stomach? A flabby stomach is hardly a sign of good health. Thanks

Try to do cardio. There's something called interval training that you could do if you run, job, or even walk. Interval training is like a 3 minute warm up walking, then for 30 seconds you jog, then you rest by walking for a minute and a half. That helps burn fat, which would help with the flab. If you don't want to do interval training, you can just do cardio exercises like jogging, biking, and the elliptical by themselves. All of those will burn calories, get your heart rate up and burn fat.

After doing cardio try using a stability ball. I'm a huge fan of stability balls. You can do a variety of things with a stability ball like crunches to push ups. Even regulars crunches would help tone your stomach after you've burned some fat. Pilates is also good for toning your stomach. I know a few people who swear by pilates, so who knows? You'll find what work out you like best. All of these work though.

for the last few weeks weve been conditioning and my coach says we HAVE to have flat stomachs so weve been doing alot of excercises like doing yoga stretches for youre stomache, doing sit-ups(all the way up), and doing what are called "throw-downs". what you do is grab on to a partners feet that are standing over your shoulders and have them push down youre feet hard. you have to not touch the ground with your feet but get them as close as possible with your legs straight and pull them all the way back up. drink lots of water, do cardio or run, and be patient and itll come.. :)

"Toning the stomach muscles is best achieved using common, basic exercises, such as crunches, sit ups and side bends. Or simple stomach exercises that you can work harder on at every workout."
Go here:

You should be doing CRUNCHES, SIT UPS, SIDE BENDS.
Read this wiki how on how to get a flatter stomach:

Scroll down to the beginners guide. It tells you what to do and includes pictures. After about a month, push it up a level.
It would help if you could go to a gym, too.
Brisk walking, cycling, swimming is also great for your stomach and also helps the other areas of your body and keeps you fit.
Cut out your junk food and fizzy drinks. Substitute unhealthy snacks for fruits, salad, nuts. Throughout your day, sip on water. Most of the time, people think they're hungry when infact, they're just thirsty.
Also, it may take a bit of time to see noticeable differences. Do NOT give up! Everyone has a different rate at losing weight in specific areas and toning their body.
