Codec Problem? I have Windows Movie Maker & I would like to make a music video. The problem is, that I don't have a 'Codec' for it. Here's the message:
"cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again."
So anyway I had it take me to the site and I was very unsure which Codec to get for it. I'm pretty great with computers but I'm honestly very unsure of this Codec problem.
If this information helps:
My computer is Microsoft Windows XP.
Any help is very much appreciated & guaranteed an easy 5:)

EZ! u should download "autopatcher" (free)for may 2007! it would repair your PC automatically and update it! it also give you some free tools (full codecs, windows add ons etc)! but be sure if using k-lite codec pack use "lots of stuff" installation mode
Piece of cake!
notes; autopatcher doesn't have their official web since microsoft warn them not to launch any bundled releases of microsoft's right free and downloadable tools better find it on google or majorgeeks.com ]
If you don't do very much with videos, download the CCCP:
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
That includes some basic codecs, and will probably fix your problem.
If you want more codecs than what the CCCP includes, you can get nearly every codec in existence from the k-lite codec pack (download full and choose "lots of stuff" in the installation):

Don't install both the CCCP and the k-lite codec pack. That will break things.
Contact me if that doesn't work. ]
