Its great or its the best. Not necissarily 'cool', but could mean that too. Its basicly like a west-coast term.

"The sex" basically means "cool."
So, when somebody tells you that you're the sex, or that something is the sex, it means that you or the object they're refering to is cool.

It's really just a lighthearted term. To call your friends 'the sex' etc is along the same lines of 'you're great'. The same goes for 'it's the sex'. It just means something is really cool/good etc.
