Tired of being huge.

Question Posted Monday September 24 2007, 2:04 pm

Okay well I'm going to try and describe it the best way I can.

I have a eating problem. I eat so much fast food and bad food it's gross. At my house, I always say "We don't have anything to eat." pretty much as an excuse so I can get some money and order food. I usually get McDonald's three times a week, hoagies, and pizza, the rest. I eat at home like once a week! I probably have such a high cloresteral. <-Spelling? I usually drink ice tea, pop, and all that bad junk. Exersising, oh gosh that's a problem too! I dispise to walk! I hate doing anything active. I don't know what has happend to me. In the past year I've gained atleast 30lbs, I swear. I don't wanna be like this anymore.

What I'm trying to say is I am about 5,1/5,2 and I weigh about 140-150 and that's gross. I know it's not going to be easy but I'd like some help of exersises I can do to loose my fatt stomache, loose my celulite, loose my love handles, and loose my thunder thighs. I'm not thinking that this is all going to happen overnight, I understand I'll have to work hard to get it, and I already explained to my boyfriend that I can keep going out to eat 24/7. I'd like to loose 30lbs.

What I need help with:
Things I should eat each day.
Exersises I should do.
Should I count cals or do it another way?

If someone could possibly come up with a daily routine for me or something that would help me so much. I'm so sick of being fatt, and I KNOW it's all my fault. Thank you to anyone who decided to help me.

THANK YOU IN ADVVV.
:]

Okay, first of all I think it's really great that you're taking responsibility for this yourself.

One thing that might help you: trying to lose weight with a friend or family member. You guys can work out together and keep other on track.

What worked for me was food substitution.
Instead of iced tea or soda, drink Crystal Light, it's sugar free, you empty the packet into a water bottle and shake it up. I love the Lemonade kind, they also have Iced Tea and lots of other flavors. You can find it in the grocery store with the powder drinks.
Instead of snacking on fast food, try healthier snacks. String cheese tastes great and is good for you. Fat free yogurt is good too, try Yoplait Light. It comes in flavors like Key Lime Pie and tastes really good.
Keep unhealthy food out of your house. Let your family know and tell whoever does the grocery shopping to try to avoid junk food. Start a bank account and deposit all your spending money in there so that you can't spend it on fast food. (Think how much money you'll save!)
When you have a craving for something sweet, chew sugar-free gum like Orbit, Orbit White, or Stride. Fruit-flavored gum can satisfy a craving and is a lot less calories than cookies. Also, it'll make you want to eat less because your mouth tastes like mint!
Make sure to eat breakfast. I usually have something like a whole-wheat waffle (Eggo Nutrigrain, I hate whole-grain but it actually tastes good) with pumpkin butter, string cheese, and milk. Carry healthy snacks like nuts around with you.
Drink lots of water. The Crystal Light should help you with that.
Avoid butter and sugar like the plague. Try to cut down on sugar by eating less processed foods (fruit's a good sweet snack), eating sugar-free products, and using a sugar substitute. (Stevia extract is all natural and actually tastes like sugar with no nasty aftertaste. Available at health food stores and Trader Joe's). Instead of butter, try Smart Balance or Soy Balance. They taste like butter, unlike margarine subs like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (well, I can!) and are a lot better for you.
Also try those Quaker Mini Rice Cakes, they're in little bags, 90 calories a bag, and they come in chocolate! Rice cakes in general are a great snack.
While a small amount of carbs is good for you, they make you bloated so try to cut down.
Whenever you want to eat something unhealthy, look in the mirror and stick your stomach out as far as you can. Now picture it twice that size. Still wanna eat all that crap?
As for exercise, just try to be active. Since you hate exercising, leg lifts etc aren't going to work so well. Go for lots of walks (bring music so you don't get bored). Turn on music and dance for half an hour. Babysit and play tag with the kids. Exercise during TV commercials. And reward yourself for losing weight with treats like a manicure and pedicure or a new lipstick.

Good luck!

Hi there,
All I can say is you are not huge, but it probably would be better not to eat so much fast food.
I am 5'2'' and I used to not be in the greatest shape. Over the summer I cut out all sugary and fatty foods and I did a lot of excercising. It was really good for me.
Sometimes its hard to stop eating fatty and unhealthy foods. In my family, it is hard, because I have a lot of brothers, and like with them, they eat so unhealthily, but they work out so much, they burn it all off.
With me, its not that easy. So...it was really hard for me to lose weight because everyone else was eating junk food, while I was trying to eat steamed broccoli (which I actually love now).

The other people gave fantastic advice. One thing is though, I love to walk and I love excercising, because I love the outdoors. Maybe you could trying listening to your ipod, or listening to your favorite mix on a cd. When I first started excercising, all that sporty inspirational music helped a lot! =)
Or...you could try maybe taking a yoga or pilates or excercising class at your local gym...
or...if you have a game system a great workout is doing dance pad with the game dance dance revolution! If those don't work, I would just encourage you to maybe get an excercising buddy. Someone who you know is very disciplined and can hold you accountable. I am sure they can help you.

Hope I helped, take care, and best of luck on losing weight! =)

haha ok, well the other person basically helped you a bunch, but ill try and help a little bit :] ok so i know how you feel about eating all the time, i do that too, well did. i know its hard, but somehow you have to give up fast food, i know its so tempting, trust me i really know, but try asking your parents to make hamburgers and baked fries for dinner, its much healthier and for me it tastes better.

talk to your mom about making healthy dinners that still have the same image as fast food, sort of a mirage for your craving for fast food. drinking pop: baddd idea. you should probably stop asap. i stopped and ive lost over 5 pounds, by just not drinking pop. tea is very good for you, try something like lipton iced tea in the bottles. they have a white rasberry one, it tastes really good and its healthier than pop for you.

and something that helps, set a time that you cant eat after, say like 7:30, dont eat anything because that adds fat because when you sleep, your not buring/ digesting any calories.

and if you dont like exercising, try something fun like yoga. i know this part is kind of stupid, but it works for me. if your at home watching tv while on the computer or something, or just watching tv, get up every commercial and just pace back and forth, or do a little dance. yes it sounds corny but it keeps your energy level high and it burns calories. also try playing a dancing video game like ddr, that burns a lotttt of calories and fat, and its really fun.

have your boyfriend help you too. if he's with you, he needs to help you resist fast food, and suggest something healthier. at the most right now, try to limit yourself to fast food 1-2 nights a week, no more. trust me it will be hard, but it will be so worth it.

if you also drink a lot of milk, it will help you lose weight, what i do is eat a lot of yogurt. you can have beef and things like that, but try to do it only 3 days a week, the rest chicken. chicken and fish are really healthy for you. and if your mom or dad doesnt want to cook, then you get out there and learn yourself! its really fun and it helps you lose weight.

as of snacks, when you have a sweet tooth, eat a granola bar, they appeal your craving and they have less calories.

you should also eat a vitamin everyday, it helps boost energy and get you to want to do more.

thats all i can think of now, i hope that helps you a little. im not good with the excercise part, the diet is what i stick to :]

and by the way, dont count calories or anything, it is so much harder

I love helping people out with this! This is part of the reason I became a gymnastics coach! But here is a couple different things that might help you... and when you do go out to dinner, get like a salad or a chicken sandwhich that is grilled instead of crispy. Lay of the pop and tea, drink water and milk, flavored water is what I usually drink.

morning... get up about 20 minutes earlier do
crunches about 10, do about 5 push ups, and toe raises do 20. Do 20 arm circles, and there are these things where you lay on your side and lift one leg at a time, do 10 on each side.

eat breakefast everyday!!! Eat a bowl of cereal something that is low in fat and healthy, like kashi, cherios, or some type of curves food. Eat about 1/2 a cup and put about 1/4 of milk or less. And have a cup of fruit juice that is not from concentrate!

lunch--eat a sandwhich, with something like lean ham, tuna, or turkey, pb and j is pretty good too! You might put lettuce, tomatoe, and all on it so it isn't to blan. Also eat some fruit and a veggie, and drink some water.

dinner-- eat at home if you can, eat a salad, or a baked meat, grilled is pretty good too, also eata veggie, and if you eat dessert eat something like 1 cup of frozen yogurt ice cream, you really cant tell the difference.

night time workout-- do the same as the morning switch it up and after it gets easyer than add 5 to each thing. If it is easy the first time you do it, start with a higher amount. I dont know how out of shape you are.

For snacks, try eating, fruit, or veggies or a gronola bar, or you can even drink a glass of water.

It helps if you do this with someone else that way you have someone to incurage you. If you need help understanding something I said feel free to ask, or if you would like someonther things you can do to switch up extersize ask, i will be happy to help! I know alot. One of the main things is only eat when you are hungry, limit yourself to 2 snaks a day! Leave yourself a little hungry at the end of each meal as well, this helps your stomache shrink faster! But please do not try not eating at all, this can cause you to pass out! Hope this helps and gives you a good Idea!
