Question Posted Monday September 24 2007, 12:14 pm

Okay I feel a bit silly asking this but I'm going to anyway.

If you wanted to work behind the scenes in a fashion retail store (ie. in the offices and not in the actual store) would starting out as a manager of the store help?
Like, would they promote a manager to work behind the scenes or would you have to request the promotion?

Orrr would you have to apply for a job behind the scenes in the first place and not for a managerial position?

You're best off applying for a behind-the-scenes position. Chances are slim a store manager would get promoted to that kind of work.
