I know what you mean though about forgetting to take it. I've been on them since I was 15 so that's 13 years and every so often I go through a spell where I forget to take them every 3 days.
The only way to know if you are pregnant or not, is to do one of 2 things. Take a test, or wait and see if your period comes along.
I've never heard of a home pregnancy test being effected by the contraceptive pill, but I suppose anything is possible. Also bear in mind that should you be taking anti biotics, this will stop your pill from working, whether you take it or not.
No contraceptive is 100% guaranteed to protect you against unwanted pregnancy so it is always reccomended to have alternative methods, especially if you have sex with people you don't know very well. Pregnancy isn't the only risk of unprotected sex and this is something we should all be aware of if we have sex with different people. [ Foundsoul's advice column | Ask Foundsoul A Question ]

The pill won't interfere with a pregnancy test, but wait until you are supposed to get your period to go buy a test. If you miss your period two times, then take the test. Your best bet would be go seeing your gyno, and talking to her about other options that you won't have to remember about pills. [ Deny08's advice column | Ask Deny08 A Question ]
