* Corneal irritation or injury
* Stress
* Lack of sleep
* Fatigue
* Prolonged staring or eye strain
* Neurological disorders
* Possibly Hereditary
I'm sure everyone has had this at some point - I know I have and it lasted around 2 days because I was so tired.
If it doesn't ease off or you've had it for a while, get yourself checked out to see what's causing it for you.
Hope it stops soon! [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

You can get this from heredity, anxiety, staring at bright lights, being overly tired, and of course, corneal irritation. So get some sleep and take it easy. I had this happen to me a few times.
You can go to a doctor or wait it out. It wouldn't be much a problem if it turns into chronic twitching either. There's always drug therapy and other options.
But I say it's normal. It happens to at least everyone. Maybe someone else in your family has had it happen.

They will take a look and determine better than anyone can exactly what is happening. They can also refer you to a specialist if need be.
