i have a paper due friday and the question is .. who's my hero(s) and why? can i be my own hero? is that possible at all?

If you have a good explanation as to why you are your own hero, yes, you can.
I used to say that, because I don't particularly look up to anyone apart from a musician...

Ahh, the hero essay. I guess you can say you're your own hero. But you have to back that up. You can probably say something like: You kept on going when you parents weren't really there. But if you can think of something else, it'll be better. Perhaps a friend, mom, dad, grandma, etc.
