Pilates

Question Posted Sunday September 16 2007, 1:31 am

ok so i am over weight (bms 26) and i want to try to loose weight... though thats not possible through food coz my day is unpredictable and its like i HAVE to eat when my kid's eating... and i work nights go to school afternoons and its really hard. so anyway, i have about 20 mins (plus another 30 to take a shower dress up make snacks...etc) a day for myself which i was hoping to use 4 exercising... i was wondering if anyone knows an online video site that can show me pilates moves i can do at home.... or any other workout that would help me get this weight off!

thanks

I have the same problem. I am a single mother and I had to eat when my daughter did, and often i'd eat awful foods.

Here's a solution that will help save your sanity and your waistline; it's working well for me:

What I did is join a gym that as part of your membership offers up to two hours of babysitting per day. Usually the larger gyms do cater to those with children. It may be a bit more pricey than other establishments, but hey, your health is worth it.

This is also time for me to relax and have me time even though I'm working out. I reward myself with 15 minutes in the gym hot tub after my work out.

Also, being a busy mom also often means eating on the run. Many fast food restraunts do offer healthier options, and check on dietfacts.com and you can find the best choices. Also, ask for the item without sauce and cheeses.

it's a difficult position to be in, but after a while you'll be able to balance Busy Mom and Healthy Mom and be a good influence on your children as well!

It's not really a pilates site, but it should help:
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

You can also go to my forum (the link is the first link given on the far right column on my page) and there should be 4 topics you can read that will help you:

Lose Weight
toning Exercises
Stretching
Carbs, protein, fat, wtf??? (Or something like that)

It seems like you have a busy schedule going on there. Why don't you try getting up 30min earlier to fit in exercise and use the remaining 20min to just relax or look up recipes? You can eat healthy with a hectic schedule. Get your kids involved in eating right and you'll see that it's not hard to fit in at all. Just buy lots of healthy foods and take 30min every Saturday to just wash and cut up the veggies and fruits so they'll be ready to eat when you open the fridge =)

Good luck!
