I recently dyed my hair. However, I used temporary dye and it only lasted for about two weeks.
Are there any ways of making temporary dye last longer? I heard that there are some shampoos that don't wash the color away, but I don't know if this is true or not.

It's usually designed for parties or a 'one time thing'/a test. There are shampoos made for dyed hair but since the dye you used is temporary, it probably won't help much because you'll be washing your hair.
Maybe try a different dye?
Semi Permanent lasts about 12 washes. This doesn't contain any ammonia and peroxide. So it won't lighten your hair.
Demi-Permanent Lasts twice as much as the Semi. This has some peroxide in it, it creates a noticeable color change.
And well yeah, there's Permanent. It's the only one that can't be washed out, it just fades.
If there's some reason why you can't dye your hair with some permanent.. Maybe try compromising with Semi or Demi.
RachyPie answered Monday September 10 2007, 12:06 pm: It helps if your hair is dirty (not horribly greasy though) when you dye it.
Some hair just doesn't take to non-permenant dye, though... If your hair isn't ver porous, not enough of the dye is going to get into the hair to keep it coloured for longer.
Obviously colour-care shampoos are going to help, but I agree with the person below me, if you loved the colour non-permenantly, why not try dying your hair permenantly? xxx [ RachyPie's advice column | Ask RachyPie A Question ]

Look for shampoos for coloured hair and give them a try. There's alot out there - I use Loreal.
Perhaps you should look into colouring your hair permanently if you want it to last longer. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
