Im 16/f and me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year. We have sex, but hes at college, so we're not doing it as much. But I still wanna get on birthcontrol, but I have no idea how to tell my mom. She asked me before, but I said no. Now I dont want you guys thinking im a whore, bc Im not. We were dating 5 months before we even TOUCHED each other, no lie!. So can you please tell me about how you told your moms, and what they did/said? Please and thank you!!!
PLEASE only girls that have asked their parents for birth controll, I dont care how your sister/friend did. I want to know YOU. If you say "well my sister did.." Ill rate you LOW.

How i personally told my mom was that my period was irregular ( and it was ) and birth control helps that. Also ive been going out with my boyfriend for 7 months and i just told her straight out id rather be safe then sorry, and she completly understood. i bet your mom would too!! They don't wanna pay for an abortion.

when i wanted to get on birth control, i was like 12 or 13, i wasnt having sex but i didnt want to get pregnant just in case the day did come... There was this place where i lived called plan parenthood they gave u birth control for free with out telling your mom or anyone. but they didnt have the patch(and thats what i wanted) So i asked my mom if i could talk to her, and then i told her that i wasnt having sex but that i wanted to get on birth control so if i ever did i would already be on it. i also told her that it clears your face and only makes you have your period for 3 0r 4 days and it helps ease cramps.
So i would asks your mom if your can go on or that you would like to and then tell her about all the cool stuff it does besides preventing pregnancy!

well if you dont want to tell her you're wanting the Pill cuz you want to have sex you should tell her you're periods are extremely heavy and you would like to get on the Pill so it will decrease the flow.....that's what i did ,and the doctors didnt even know that i was liein my *ss off!lol

My mother always told me it would be better to tell her I wanted to get on it because I was going to have sex because she would rather me tell her than not and end up pregnant. Well, I ended up going on BC myself, then got off...then thought i was pregnant once. My mom found out I was having sex and was more disappointed that I didn't just go to her to get on bc rather than keep it from her.
All in all she really told me just tell her when I thought I would be ready. And from what I can tell she meant it...I think your mother would rather you go to her than do it behind her back and risk something happening.

When i wanted it i go up to my mother and just sit her down and told her how we wanted to have sex and that we wanted to be safe. and she was upset up she was poud how i went to her. so maybe hell understand. expecally if she asked you about it already.
