uisforukelele answered Friday September 7 2007, 7:58 am: well, you can write about something like this: at my school, if you get your cell phone taken up, you have to pay fifteen dollars to get it back. so one kid wrote a column about where all that money goes. it was sort of a "detective" thing and he interviewed the principals and stuff. very interesting. he found out how much money in fines students pay per year, and what funds that goes to and stuff. part of it pays for the senior prom, i think. but it was like multiple thousands of dollars in cell phone returns! do you have anything like that at your school, where you have to pay money for something (other than lunch)? icey0990 answered Friday September 7 2007, 1:55 am: i think a good idea would to have a student advice column. a few people can be interviewed and get the job of being an advice columnist for the school paper. students could anonymously submit questions and the advice columnists can answer. interviews with former students are good ideas because its always interesting to read about where people are now and what they are up to. students can submit articles responding to the question of the motnh or something..like "what should be done to improve the school.." or "how do you feel about ..(the war in iraq, a particular school issue, etc.) polls taken by students can be published, school events or fundraisers can be talked about and advertised, help wanted ads are a good idea to inform students what local jobs are available, etc. [ icey0990's advice column | Ask icey0990 A Question ]
AdviceMistress answered Friday September 7 2007, 1:02 am: maybe come up with some interesting questions for the teachers.. or maybe interview a "student of the month"... or even come up with a section so that the readers could participate in the newspaper too.
Cherry_Blow_Pop answered Friday September 7 2007, 12:25 am: Maybe interview some students on what they would like to see improved in the school. Or ask them what activities or clubs they would like to see. Something that will catch the student body's interest like writing about their opinions about the school.
