It all depends on the type of essay. If it's an autobiography type of essay, start with "I" unless your teacher directs you not to. If the essay is in third person, start with your name & then keep going.
It all depends what type of essay it is, & the directions you were given on how to write it. I would talk over some ideas with your teacher to see what he/she would recommend.

Well, I'm one of those people that loves quotes, so I would probably find some quote that would be a good opener. If you don't like that, than try something else creative. Just don't start off with, "Hi, my name is..." that's just boring. Quotes usually work best. Good lucK!

Well start with
your name, your idenity, your appearence, birth,
everything should link for example..
my name is sadie, this name orginates from america(now i link it with something that has something to do with what i just said)
but i actually live in the uk with my family, i have been living in the uk since i was born, 24/6/93 .
you can then describe your hometown, what there is to do, where you go to school, who are your friends, your grades, your ambitions etc etc etc

well if its about your life start with my life started a long time ago. what i did cuz i think we have the same problem here ! i said it all started when my mother and father gave me life.! its weird but its better than nothing!
