hair flip

Question Posted Thursday August 23 2007, 10:18 pm

my hair just naturally flips out at the ends, and its really annoying me. are there any ways i can get rid of it?
i have a straightener and i know i can use that, but it takes so long because my hair is so stubborn and i can never really tell if i did it right.

thanks♥

the only way i can think of making it not flip is to use your straightener, but not on your whole head, just start at the tips and hold it on the flipped part and tilt it inwards so that the flip goes away

It might be something to do with the way your hair was cut. Next time you get a haircut, tell your hairdresser exactly what you want and don't want. Some hairdressers are really into that little flip. If you have wavy hair, the flip might be natural and the best advice I can give is blow drying your hair with a round brush and twirling the brush inwards while you dry it.

I wouldn't put gel on the tips of your hair because it'll make your hair look crispy and it'll look different than the rest of your hair. You'd be better off with hairspray. But before you but anything in your hair, you should straighten the ends because that is what will make them straight. Right after you straighten them, spray the hair spray on your hair to keep it straight. What you can also try rather than just straightening them downwards is curling them under a bit. Not so much that they actually curl under but just enough to reverse the flipping upwards. And again, after this, spray hairspray.

try getting some hair gel. get your hair wet and rub a tiny bit of the gell all over the tips of your hair where it flips out. style it so that it is straight and it should stay and it doesnt take long at all. also it doesnt damage your hair like straightening it will.

gel WONT make your look crispy or crunchy if you get it wet first and only use a small amount like i said before.
