I want to be a Lawyer

Question Posted Wednesday August 22 2007, 4:13 pm

13/F

Now, i was thinking of future jobs just the other day. I would love to be a Lawyer, but I'm not sure what i would have to do to achieve this.

I realise i may be a bit young to be thinking about this, but i watched Legally Blonde & i just thought that i would love to be a Lawyer.

Any advice on how i go about this?

graduate high school(some high schools offer some like courses)
then you have 4 years of college
and 2 years of law school

you also have to consider what kind of lawyer you want to be because there 1000 different kinds, like my aunt owns a law firm that works only with labor law, i also wanna be a lawyer and i wanna go into like sports and entertainment law, and be like a sports agent or something idk i think that'd be cool but its all about what you'd prefer and thats deffentaly somethign you can start to consider now.

Graduate High School
Go to college
Decide if you want to be a lawyer.

Most careers, it doesnt really matter what you do up until about your junior year of college. There are certain things you can do to prepare, for instance certain colleges make it more prestigious in general and certain majors are more admired when it comes to a law school deciding to accept you.

But in practical actuality there is nothing you can do at least until you hit the end of high school. Just keep your grades up.

i know you would have to read a lot and i think go to law school and when you get into highschool i suggest going to your school guidance councilor and asking them what classes they suggest to take. or if your school has a career center lab, id try asking them
