Lacrosse

Question Posted Tuesday August 14 2007, 9:34 pm

I start lacrosse in the fall. My school has pre-season practices which I hear are pure hell. Running 3-5 miles every day, not to mention a 14 mile run one day of the practices in the week is something that will be difficult for me. Hearing this is so discouraging. I love lacrosse but I can't run 5 miles! The heat and running really get to me quickly. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you really want to play lacrosse then do it some tips to help you. Bring lots of water and drink before and after you run because you dont want to dehydrate. Stretch before you run so you wont get tired and pass out. Also you could practice running run a mile a day until lacrosse starts and by the time lacrosse comes you will be able to run.

Hope I helped :]

If it's something you want to do then you should probably stick with it and maybe get one of the faster people to help run with you and practice before you guys have to run at the actual practice. Also, if you really want to do it you should talk to the coach and say you are going to try your best and really want it and prove to them that you do! I think if you can't do it the coaches should respect you because thats asking A LOT when i did lacrosse we did not have to do such vigorous training. I think you just need to run the treadmill and practice practice practice and do your best! If that's not enough then they don't deserve you on the team anyway!
