Sunburns

Question Posted Wednesday August 8 2007, 10:23 pm

[I didn't know which category this should go under]

Okay so my skin is pretty fair. I'm mostly irish. However, I do tan a little bit. I know this is hard to judge, but how long do you think I could stay out in the sun without being burnt, because I want some color, but I am terrified of getting burnt again. The first time I went out this year, I was out for 3 hours straight and got a wicked bad sunburn.

I know its really hard to judge, so I appreciate any answers.

About half an hour to an hour if you don't want to reapply sunscreen. I do stress though that you wear some before you go out because I wish someone could go back in time and tell my aunt that or she would still be with me today. Be careful of the sun. I have the same skin type as you and am currently nursing a bad sunburn.

I'm the exact same way. My mom told me to go out everyday for about half an hour or 45 minutes. You'll gradually get a tan.

Tanning really requires experience, just try alternate times, like 20 minutes, then 30 and see when you start to burn.

Burning gets you tanned, as well. Not as fun as just tanning though :(

If all else fails, just try really short periods of exposure :D

Hope you get that good tan. <3

try using a light sunscreen, that way you will get a little exposure at a time, stay out for about an hour only, and gradually increase time. Alot of people go to tanning beds they say it helps if you tan there first. hope i helped Brie
