You should go to my forum [link's on my page] and click the topic "Fats, carbs, proteins, wtf???" Topic...or something like that. In there should be a list of good, healthy foods. You can choose to buy stuff from there.
As for recipes, go to www.allrecipes.com
On the orange bar on the top of the page, you should find "More Searches" Roll your mouse over on top and a list should drop down. Click Advanced search, put in the ingredients you want and check the box for Vegetarian on the right column. There should be a lot of recipes you can find on there. My favorite tofu recipes is probably a wrap. Get firm tofu, cut it up into 1/4" thick, small squares. Put some oil in a pan, salt the tofu, and fry it on both sides [5min on each about]. Take them out and set it aside. Get a flour tortilla [or whichever flavor you prefer] and heat it up on both sides. Put the tofu in the middle, put on some ranch, and spinach [optional], roll it up and eat =) Oh, you can put some cheese on there, too. But anywhos, that is really versatile [sp?] so don't be afraid to experiment. Tofu itself..you can do whatever you want to do with it =)
Um, you should definitely get lentils and make lentil soup, lasagna, etc. They're delicious and awesome source of protein =) Also, try Morning Star or Boca brand [Fake meat] Morning Star has Veggie Bites [Vegetarian nuggest], veggie patties, etc. Boca, I like more than Morning Star because it's cheaper and I think it's mroe delicious. Boca is vegan product, actually. lol.
Ummm, read ingredients carefully before you buy stuff because you never know when these people will slip in gelatin [fat form animals] or animal products in. Apparently, Coke Original has products dervied from animal products. That's just plain disgusting. Also, if you're going to eat at fast foods, McD's might not be too veg friednly with the oil they fry the fries in. BK I'm not too sure about...but I love their veggie burgers. Ramen from Top Ramen [or something like taht] is okay as long as it's Oriental Flavor or Vegetable Cup noodles. Those two only are veg friendly. Gelatin containing foods include but are not limited to: jell-o, gummies, jelly like food [except twizzlers], marshmellows, some yogurt, some marshmallows, and the frosting of a pop tart. Just make sure you don't eat gelatin...
I think I'll make a topic for vegetarianism in my forum so come back and check some time =)
