Can foetus feel when an ultrasound image of him/her is taken
Question Posted Friday July 25 2008, 6:32 pm
I had an ultrasound image taken of my baby at about 13 weeks. Immediately after the picture was taken, I could see on the screen my baby flailing his arms and legs; and generally moving about in my womb. Did the picture taking impact upon him at all? I mean, did he know / feel the machine taking his picture? I am worried it might affect him adversely.
In fact, he will do just that until his living quarters start getting cramped. Once that happens, you'll feel him when he's moving (they move a lot when you lay down to rest/sleep) and you'll feel him when he is at rest/sleeping (generally when you're up and about- your movement rocks him to sleep).
Have no worries. It didn't affect him.
Unlike x-rays, they use sound waves. Your child isn't exposed to radiation.

& As far as I know, Ultrasounds do not hurt the baby
one bit.
I don't know if the baby can feel them, & neither does anyone else, since we're not the baby.
Everytime I get an ultrasound, the baby is so hyper & always kicking/punching.
I know getting to many ultrasounds can be bad, because the radiation from them.
