Different people have different egos.
Ego type #1 is the big ego. People with big egos tend to think they're the shit. They always have to be right, and they always have to be the best. They have trouble admitting their faults & they often don't know what the hell they're talking about. They're also fairly conceited.
Ego type #2 is the little ego. People with small egos accept their faults, & don't think they're better than anyone else. They're not cocky, & they don't think that they're the best at everything. They can admit their faults without shame & they're not full of themselves.

But the common definition of what "having an ego" means is that people who have an ego think that they're the best; They think they're right, they're fairly picky about who they hang out with, etc. My ex is living proof of having an ego.
