SAT Prep

Question Posted Wednesday July 25 2007, 11:30 am

I'm taking my SATS for the second time in October. I have the College Board SAT book, the one that's huge & blue. What other books would you suggest buying that helped you with the SATS?? I also bought Barron's math book, but it's really difficult to understand. What books helped you the most??

Thanks!!

Hello! I'm taking the SATS for the second time too in October. I have tons of books! Barrons is always hard and gives you more info than you need but if you know it well you'll do well on the tests in the end. I liked the Barrons SAT I preparation book too. There's this book I saw at Barnes and Noble that is helpful to me: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
I also have Kaplan and Princeton Review but I never use those. They are different and easier. I heard this one is good: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
And this one is interesting:

Are you taking classes in addition to doing the books?

There is this method I saw on this site that I thought was interesting. I don't know if it'll help, but if you keep taking the tests in the official SAT College book, you'll eventually see all the patterns and become familiar with their tricks because like with the math section, you actually need to know very little math pretty much! and there's other ways to get around not knowing how to do it- like logicwise.

I would highly recommend the GuideParadise their guide along with the Princeton Review. I studied both of those books religiously and was able to improve my score more than 300 pts. The main key to doing well on the SAT is practice. The more you practice, the better you will ultimately do. Another key is having the right SAT review guide. Therefore, I suggest you buy the GuideParadise (you can buy it on [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) SAT guide and the Princeton Review SAT review book (i got it at the library) to aid your studying.
