haha.. i didn't know what category to put this under, so this was the best i could do.
i went to get contacts for the first time today, but i could not for the life of me get them in my eye. i kept blinking, and my eye muscles kept contracting etc etc. how do i get over the fear of putting something in my eye? i'm scared the lens will scratch my cornea and infect it and all that stuff, plus i just have a really strong natural reflex against them i guess. tips?

It takes time for your eyes to get used to them, but when you first start wearing them, I wouldn't wear them for the whole day. Train your eyes to get used to them for a few hours a day, then switch back to glasses. However, make sure that your glasses and contact lenses are the same prescription, or else that will make your eye muscles hurt even more. If your eyes ever feel scratchy and itchy because of them, try putting the contact eye drops in; they may just be dry, and when they're dry, they do hurt.
If they still hurt, I'd make an appointment with the eye doctor. They may have given you a prescription that is too strong for your eyes, which is leading to the straining of your eye muscles.
Also, be careful about your hair and eyelashes! They make your eyes hurt so much if they get caught in your eye while you're wearing contacts; just a little warning that may save you from the terrible pain someday. lol
