Idk if this is in the right the topic thingy. but anywho...
My period is like normally 10-12 days long and some times like 14-16 days. It is horrible. I have asked my doctor and shes told me its because i am "new" to it. but i have had it for like 3-4 years. not extactly "new". but i have told her(my doctor) that i have passed out before because i am losing sooooo much blood. IDK what to do. no one will do anything about this.
(not even my mom who has the same problem and is on B.C. and won't let me use her B.C until the Doctor says its ok!)
WHAT DO I DO???????
But also, make sure you are taking IRON, when you lose blood, you are losing iron. This can also make you weak and lose energy, can even lead to anemia.
Keep in mind vitamin c is needed for iron to be absorbed. So maybe taking an iron pill with orange juice, or broccoli with lemon squeezed on it, something like that is the best way to be sure that the iron is abosorbed. [ rubytuesday's advice column | Ask rubytuesday A Question ]

First, I think you may need to talk to your mother telling her about a different doctor b/c this doctor may isn't seeing the danger signs and I can tell you them. Ten to twelve days even fourteen to sixteen days is too long for your cycle because your body is losing a lot of nutrients in the blood. Nutrients for vitamins which are very essential to the bloodstream and the body itself. So, it'll be hard for your body to maintain those nutrients, even when you aren't on your period. That's probably the reason why you're passing out, that's why I used to. They put me on the pill but I wasn't on it no longer than two months. That was just to regulate my cycle. Just because you take birth control for the period doesn't mean that you'll have to stay on birth control throughout your entire life. You just need to get a second opinion and make sure that you're not losing nutrients in your bloodstream, which is very essential to your present and future health. Hope I was some help. Bye. If you told her about this problem within the first two years, then you should go back because the problem is still there. You should tell her that you have had it for 3-4 years now, and that you keep passing out. Passing out isn't normal, so the doctor should look into that anyway.
As for your mom not letting you use her B.C.? You need to have a doctor tell you what kind you need, because every woman is different. It can sometimes be bad to use someone else's B.C. because everyone needs a certain amount of the hormones. If you get too much, there could be complications, and if you get too little, then it won't do anything.
How old are you? Sometimes, if you are about 13 years old, you are too young to be treated for the problem. You would have to start B.C. later. However, you should be checked for anemia and other disorders.
I really encourage you to talk to your mother about this again so she can take you to the doctor, possibly a new one if your current one doesn't solve this problem. Maybe you could go online and print off some information on this problem, so she knows that it isn't normal and that it needs to be fixed. The following is a list of websites with useful information for you and your mother, if you decide to take my suggestion.

You don't say how old you are in your messsage.
If I were you I would ask your Mom to take you back to the doctors and discuss Birth Control pills WITH the doctor and explain how you are feeling and WHY you want to go onto birth control.
You also don't say where you live but here in Britain it is possible to go for free confidential advice about contracepetion from about the age of 13. Maybe you could do this.
There is not an awful lot else I can reccommend to be honest, the contracteptive pill is what made my periods regular when I first started, I only took them for 8 months but in that space of time my body had gotten itself into a routine and my periods have been fine pretty much ever since.
