HOW?

Question Posted Friday July 20 2007, 1:20 am

How do you feel pretty when you're completely different from everyone else?

I can't help but pick my flaws out. I'm not fair skinned or have that off the beach tan. I have big eyes but not big eyelids. My eyebrows are small. My hair is dark brown as well as my eyes.

Everyone seems so attractive to blondes, big eyes, colored eyes.. tans.. just so pretty..

and I feel like a child because I look different :( i don't know how to think differently.. I've been told I'm attractive.. but there's so many people that look similar and I feel out of the loop. But then again, I don't care much to be in it. I just feel like I'm there and unworthy to be a model. <- something I'm trying to do.

I know I'm weird.. Any advice.
How can I make myself look more natural with makeup and older? I'm going to be a junior but I feel like .. I look like I'm a freshmen or something.

I look different from everyone, too. When I was younger, I felt the SAME way! I felt like just because I wasn't blonde haired and blue eyed, that I wasn't pretty. After awhile, I learned to embrace my beauty. It's good to look different. I actually LOVE looking different than everybody else, (I'm half pacific islander/half white, and practically everyone at my school is white). I'm sure that people envy that you have different looks. You'll stand out. People would probably kill for your beach tan, or your big eyes. It's normal to pick out your own flaws, EVERYBODY does it. Everybody is self concious about something about themselves, so don't let it bring you down! Wear makeup to bring out your features. From the details you gave me, it sounds like you're gorgeous! To bring out your big brown eyes, even though you don't have to, get a mascara that makes your eyelashes look really long. I recommend the Telescopic & the Volume Shocking mascara. Wear bold eyeshadow/eyeliner to compliment your eyes: check out this site: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Learn to love & enjoy that you look different from everybody else. Even though I already look different, I look at other girls that look different and wish I had their features! Be happy, you're beautiful!

I'm not going to tell you to wear more make-up because that isn't what you need. You are beautiful the way you are. What you need is how to except yourself.

Sit in front of a mirror. Write down everything you like about yourself, physically and mentally. Once a day, or just whenever you're feeling down look over this list. It will boost your confidence.

Really there's no easy way to accept yourself. It's just one day at a time. Just always remember- you are beautiful. I also had trouble accepting what I look like, but now I like myself.

The only guys who notice things like eyelids and eyebrows are gay guys...and them, my dearest, you don't have to worry about! lol.

It's funny that you say you feel out of the loop because you don't look like everybody else. If you're making a particular observation about everybody else that must mean that they all look the same. Good guys, the guys that you should be aiming towards, go for the girls who stand out in the crowd. And most guys that I know prefer the "natural" look to the "artificial" one (meaning make-up).

Do you know how many models have darker skin (that's not tanned) and brown eyes?!?!?! They are some of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen in my life. One of the prettiest girls in my school has dark brown hair, darker skin, and brown eyes. She's beautiful and people love her for the way she is.

If you're really that concerned about your appearance and you really just ABSOLUTELY CANNOT ACCEPT how you look try a natural looking make-up converage. Use a little bit of blush, mascara, eyeliner, and lipgloss. As for your hair, you can get highlights if you're convinced that it's too dark. Your eyebrows are probably fine how they are. I wouldn't go messing with those because they can get worse more easily than they can get better.

I really wouldn't chance too much because I would bet a lot of money that to everybody except you, you're beautiful just how you are...

but...why would you want to look like everybody else? the blonde hair, tanned skin, blue eyes, etc. thats overdone and its nice to see somebody who looks different once in a while, you know? you just have to love what you have and what you were born with. the natural stuff is the prettiest.
