Ok so I know this site where you can get a person's IP address. So i randomly google'd IP address and i got a site www.ip-adress.com and like you can find out where people live. It's creepy. So I'm just wondering like..why are their sites like this. It's just helping online predators find people to rape and stuff. Any opinions.
P.S. like i seriously looked up my IP on it and it showed my location
xobabygurl28 answered Tuesday July 17 2007, 12:16 pm: wow thats kind of scary! im honestly not sure why they would make that kind of a site, but i looked it up and i found this "IP addresses can appear to be shared by multiple client devices either because they are part of a shared hosting web server environment or because a proxy server (e.g., an ISP or anonymizer service) acts as an intermediary agent on behalf of its customers, in which case the real originating IP addresses might be hidden from the server receiving a request. " so maybe they are there to help host sites and let others know which are being used...im sorry if this didnt help any [ xobabygurl28's advice column | Ask xobabygurl28 A Question ]

Ugh, why would people need something like that? I suppose I don't have an answer to your question, but I do totally agree. That is insane. You're probably right. Anyone could get someone elses IP address and look them up. It's not that hard to get an IP address.
That's totally weird. I wonder if there is anything we could do to block it or to block our IP. (I'm only computer savvy with some stuff). [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
