Hollister answered Thursday July 12 2007, 4:55 am: Aw I used to have those kinda fish, they are really pretty.
Anyways don't put males in the same bowl because they seriously will tear each other up. They are low maintenance and just be sure to feed it regularly and wash its bowl from time to time. They live for a verrrrry long time, so thats a good bonus! [ Hollister's advice column | Ask Hollister A Question ]
LM answered Thursday July 12 2007, 2:15 am: Don't put two in the same tank. You can actually put two females together and they'll be like, "whatever" and won't fight. Bad thing about that? The only way to be sure they're not both males IS to put them in the same tank. So yeah, separate tanks!
Feed them twice a day. Change the water every week if you can, USE ONLY WATER THAT ISN'T FROM THE TAP! and NEVER use distilled. What I do, I take a gallon container, fill it with tap water, and let it sit for like, a week before I use it. That way, all the contamanants get out [I dunno how it works, but it does, my cousin used this method for her frogs]. Plus, it's the same temperature so it won't shock the fish.
Clean the tank/vase with hot water. If it stinks [and it will, trust me] it's okay to use Windex, as long as you rinse it. Soap will kill your fish, so don't use the kitchen sponge!
That's basically all there is to it. Oh, and name your fish so it doesn't have an identity crisis, either :D [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
