It fell in the toilet!

Question Posted Tuesday July 10 2007, 7:37 pm

To make a long story short, my cell phone fell in the toilet. It the sprint A900M, if that helps somehow. I don`t even know how that could help, but do you know of anything I could do to fix it? Or should I just buy a new phone?

Dear It Fell!
Take the phone apart and let it dry out, put it back together a day later and turn it on, and if that doesn't work, say goodbye to your phone.

before you buy a new phone, wait abt 2 weeks. take the battery out & open the phone lay it out on a towl for a few days. some of the moisture will get out. and the phone could start working again. my friend did the same thing & after a while it was working perfectly again.

My mom did the same thing with her Motorola Razr, and she had to get a new phone. So I suggest you get a new phone. Maybe see if it's covered in your warrenty. But if you dry it out, I doubt it will work.

Hope I helped ?!

Did you try drying it out?

I ran my husband's cell phone through the washer last week (no, not intentionally LOL) and I removed the battery cover, battery, and SIM card and left it to dry for, oh, probably 24 hours or so.

It worked like a charm when we put it back together, but the battery needed charged.

And if it makes a difference, the phone was turned on when it made it's spin cycling adventure, and it still worked after drying. (Yah... He didn't think it would work... HA!)
