I'm really into fashion.. but I cannot put a cute outfit together myself for well, me! I'm not into abercrombie and fitch pricey clothes or brand names across shirts. I have no idea what colors look good on me. I've been told red but I cannot wear red at school.. since I'm usually there.. I don't bother buying it. Help? I'm going to be a junior next year and I want a makeover. Makeup tips, fashion tips, hair cut [?] style?
I can do a makeover for someone else but not myself. I've changed my look so much by myself and it comes out bad. I just want opinions!
I'm kinda small. 5'0-5'1 85 pounds. I'm 16. I have dark brown eyes that I would love to brighten up. Makeup tips/brands? I dyed my hair black to cover up previous dyes, some dark brown [natural color] is peeking through eh. It's also naturally wavy. Any way to wear it pretty and have it out of my face?
I really like the style of Forever 21 and Wet Seal.. I just usually wore black for many years because I thought color looked bad on me. So I'm kinda lost with fashion. It's all cute things that I think won't look good on me. Help please :]
Pictures would be nice and lots of responses too. Any tip would be helpful.
let's start with you're hair. since you have darker eyes and an olive-like skin tone black is definantly not your color. in fact, very few people can pull off black hair so unless your skin is incredibly dark i would steer away from it. im guessing you don't like your natural hair color but a chocolate brown is sexy, natural looking and will look gorgeous on your skin. here is a sample of what im talking about, [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
if you noticed the model has the same skin tone and eye color as you do, the hair color will compliment you.
i also noticed your hair is a little bit on the dry side, well patene pro-v has a great line of moisturizing shampoos and conditioners that i really think can help make your hair much more managable. i just sounded like a commercial ahaha but it really works. brushing it daily will also make it smoother because the oils from you scalp are distributed throughout your hair.
now for the cut. with a small body frame you can get away with big hair. for you, sidebangs and tons of long layers would be ideal and very flattering. long hair is perfect for you. but the important thing to remember is layers, without layers your hir will lack volume and it will just fall flat, and you have a longer face so flat hair will make you appear droopy and tired. the best look for you is layered and loosely curled. this is an example of hair for you, [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
nowww for make up tips. this is getting long haha so i'll make this simple. you don't look like you wear much make up so the natural look is porbably bst for you. here are the basics
-liquid consealer goes on your t-zone and under your eyes. your t-zone is from the tip of your nose to your forhead and down the sides of your nose onto about an inch of your cheeks. always rub it in
-with eyes like your mascara is your friend, use lots of it.
-nuetral colors are best for eye shadows, go for a copper color or matalic brown. don't pick colors that are dull you need the shine to brighten up your eyes.
-shimmer should be apllies on the corners of your eyes to make you appear to be more awake and well reasted, here is an example [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
-bronzer is your friend, use it.
-shimmer just on the cheekbones is key
-if you are going to wear alot of eye make up don't put on a bold color of lipstick and if you must wear a bold coloor lipstick like red don't wear alot fo eye make up, it's one or the other.
-self tanner isn't alays a bad thing. get jergens face cream and let it give you a natural glow
-blush can go a long way, but only put darker blush under the cheekbone and the shimmer on the cheekbone.
-for eye shadow a darker color goes on the creas eof your eyelid while the lighter color goes on the lid itself
-again, bronzer is your friend.
alright i think i said enough about that lol
and for clothing i just have to say one thing, you have a great body show it off! white and pink are your colors in my opinion. pink espcially will look great on your skin and hair color even if you aren't a big fan it flaters you. wear light colors, it's summer! no more black itdulls you down. i would suggest tops like these...
anf since you are short hight heals are something you need to look at! they make you legs and butt look good and if you find a good pair your feet won't hurt. no fashionista goes without a good pair of heals.
chloekc answered Tuesday July 10 2007, 1:47 pm: About the blonde thing below...I'd be extremely careful as i notice you have dark eyebrows like me and bright blonde hair can sometimes do you no favours to be honest.. I'd take a look at Vanessa Hudgens style as i'm guessing you have her colouring as for your hair etc. As for colour i wouldn't keep black, i'd dye it closer to your original colour or a bit lighter brown as you are dark eyed etc. Just because your hair is dark doesn't mean you can't be bright looking, you just use the wonders of makeup and clothers for that! If you want to lighten your hair, get some multi toned colour put into it like caramel and dark blonde. As for make-up i wouldn't go too brightly coloured as it can look too drastic, but you can go quite bright or go for more natural bronze sort of colours (as they are in at the moment). [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) has all the in make-up at the moment and hair etc if you like following fashions. I think you'd suit most the stuff from wet seal so don't worry about colour not suiting you because it will! Topshop (www.topshop.com) have some really nice clothes at the minute that always keep up in style so take a look at them. I have to say though i am from England so the young fashion here may vary a bit to you lol but big prints are in here at them moment, like this ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) which i think would suit you. They also have a petite section which you might find quite handy! ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location))
Hair i'd keep wavy but keep it more controlled waves [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
which can be put up into a really nice messy style which still looks like you've put the effort into making it look like that. To keep it out your face i'd tie the front bits back then it will stop the rest going in your face.
andalixsays answered Tuesday July 10 2007, 1:33 pm: You'd look really good in white(not off white but like, snow white) and bright colors. Try a vibrant blue or aqua blue. I might stay away from yellow and pale pink if i was you. Also maybe oranges, although I can't really tell. Ask a friend how it looks on you. Grey could bring out the pinks in your skin, which is good. But not dark slate-grey. Just medium grays and lighter.
Since your petite, you'd look really cute in a lot of things. Skinny jeans might make your legs look weird, so I might stay away from those(but skinny jeans should have been out in December and I don't know why anyone still wears them). Also, capris could make you look shorter. Bermuda shorts could be good though, especially if they're kinda tight. Jeans-wise, you should go for ones that are relatively tight. Not like slutty, squeezing-you-to-death tight, but not bagggy at all. Also, A medium wash would work best for you. Dark might make you look even smaller, and light could draw extra attention to your size(I'm not saying that you don't want people to notice your size or anything- It's pretty noticeable. But light washes tend to attract attention, and you don't want people thinking, "Wow, she's really really short." If they can notice your entire body, then they'll think, "Wow, she's petite," or something along those lines anyway. And that's kind of better). Denim bermudas are especially cute. As for skirts, you'd probably look cutest in a mini-skirt.
Makeup:
For eye makeup, you should probably not wear black eyeliner, because it would look too heavy on your face. Wear brown instead. You can barely tell that there's a difference, but it looks a lot lighter. For eyeshadow, lavendars, greens, and browns(bronze, beige, etc.) would look best. Browns would complement your eye color, but might not look best with your skin, so you should be minimal if you use it. You should probably not use pink because it could make you look slightly sickly. If you want to brighten your eyes, line your eyes(inside rim and on the bottom) with white eye liner. Also, put just the tiniest tiniest bit of a light, shimmery eyeshadow on the inner part of your eye that kind of touches your nose. Mascara-wise, you don't really need it. Your eyelashes are good enough. But if you want to, you could pretty much use anything. For your lips, you could use any pinks, really. One that's close to your natural color looks best. Don't use berry purples or anything because it could look wierd. If you want to look like, stunning, a firetruck red would work on you. But don't wear that too often. Use it on an occassion, like a time when you have to dress up or something. For blush, you should go to a nice makeup store like Sephora and ask someone there to help you find a color. Do this even if money is an issue and you want to get cheap makeup. You can remember the color she chooses for you and then get a similar one at, say, a drug store. MCRxoLoVer answered Tuesday July 10 2007, 1:03 pm: Suprisingly (and this might sound weird) but white is definetley your color. Also, this might be a drastic change for you but you should dye your hair all blonde and wear like a white (tight) tea shirt, and low cut flare jeans, and maybe heels, or converse (for something more casual) would look awesome!! But if you want something a bit more fashionable, then wear like tan capris, and a white shirt. It would look cool. For the hair, after you dye it blonde, you should straighten it, and pull back some into a ponytail, but leave some of it down, and straighten whatyou left down some more, and it would look awesome. Great Pictures :)
