Buying a car...

Question Posted Sunday July 8 2007, 8:06 pm

I'm going to buy my daughter a car for her 16th birthday. I want to get her something quick, sporty, newer but used, that is 15,000 or under. What are your suggestions.

[no ford or dodge products]

I am a 16 myself and my dad was just looking for cars for me. We looked at a Mitsubitshi Eclipse, very sporty, i loved it it was an 2008 and started at 19,000 so im sure if u found a used one that was a year or two older it would be right around your price range! also check out the Hyundai Tiburon. My cousin got one for her 16th and they are very similar to the Eclipse but cheaper. Good luck!

first off the fiat 500 wont be sold in the states. even though it is looking good.a real throwback to it's original retro design. very nice on fiat's part. but nonetheless the fact of the matter is she's a girl. she wants something "cute" she doesn't care about performance, power, or really anything. if it isn't cute it's not worth her time. so i'll suggest the following:
volkswagen beetle (post 1998, almost quintessential girl's car these days)

mercedes C230 coupe (another car that girls love for some reason. not a bad car by my standards but a girls car nonetheless)

toyota corolla (post 2004 model. all girls love these cars. they're slow, underpowered, boring, econoboxes. but it turns girls on)

ford mustang (my god if there is any car that has more of a female following but tries to be manly i have yet to see it. this car, no matter what the model save for the 80's ones, is almost always owned or operated by a woman. they love em. now with a mustang i'll tell you get the V8. don't be the person going "i coulda had a V8" be the person with one)

I'd say try a Scion TC. It's relatively inexpensive, especially if you get a used one. It's a cute car and it's quick and a very safe car.

Fiat 500. The new one. Check it out. Safe (6 out of 5 stars, no joke), reliable, small and cute, automatic, up to 100horses, 5000 cobinations of colour, leather etc. 5 year OR 500km guarentee.
I drive a Lexus and own sport bikes and this car got me excited.
