Any dietery options for getting rid of pimples? I HAVE HEAPS :( - if it helps in any way - im 13/m... uhmm i already have a cream - Clearasil.. its kinda helping in ways but... yeahh.. i know i should stay low on fatty foods but is there any other things i should do???
You should consider going to a dermatologist and getting a prescription for a strong acne cream. Clearasil, if I'm not mistaken, can be bought over the counter, correct? You'll find much much better results with a prescription acne cream from a doctor.
Drinking lots of water does help flush toxins from your body, but it will have little effects on clearing your skin.
I suggest asking your doctor about the cream "Neobenz."
You see, benzoil peroxide is the main chemical used in all acne medicines. What makes Neobenz different from other medications is that it is pure benzoil peroxide in cream form. There are three different levels of it too, so if you had really bad acne, your doctor might prescribe you the strongest one. Definately ask about that if you are serious about getting clear skin.
You also need to invest in a GOOD face wash and you must use it at least once EVERY SINGLE DAY. There are lots of face washes you can choose from, it just depends on your skin type when it comes to picking one. Neutrogena products are my personal favorite. I see very good results every time I use them.
A good idea would be to experiment with several types of face wash. Try one tube, use the whole thing up, and if there is no difference, don't use it again. Then try another type, etc. until you find one that works everytime. Your doctor can recommend what type(s) of face washes are best for YOUR skin type.
As long as your stick to your doctor's instructions for applying the cream and you wash your face at least once a day, you should see significant and lasting results.

first you should change your pillow case every night..since theres oils on your hair.. its going onto your pillow which goes on your face.. that may be a cause of pimples.. also you should use ivory soap to wash your face.. ive used everything to get rid of pimples.. and soap works the best and its the cheapest.. when your done washing your face with soap then put some clearasil on your face.. also dont eat greasy foods.. drink a lot of water because that flushes everything out of you
ImFakingHotPink answered Monday July 2 2007, 1:54 pm: The people below me already answered your question. It is just a theory that oily, high cholesterol foods cause pimples.
But you also may not be using your cream correctly. All I use are drugstore products on my face because I don't believe in changing my diet or get expensive face products. You can't just use a cream and think the zits will go away, you need to cleanse your face too. Try a simple oil free acne cleanser, (i suggest neutrogena, the one in the orange see-through bottle.) This and a combination of your cream should help much more. [ ImFakingHotPink's advice column | Ask ImFakingHotPink A Question ]

superstarblue89 answered Monday July 2 2007, 12:13 pm: everyone says that oily foods cause pimples...it's a complete myth...doctors have proved that what you eat doesn't have anything to do with getting pimples but certain foods will help reduce them...no foods cause them...try eating grapefruit...studies have shown that it can help with reduction...but as for getting rid of them quickly i recommend a good astringent and facial wash...I use Neutrogena oil free acne wash and sea breeze astringent...and it clears my pimples right up [ superstarblue89's advice column | Ask superstarblue89 A Question ]

Some of my guy friends use facial foams such as Neutrogena, Nivea (for men) and Gatsby. I don't know if the place where you live in does have these brands, but do keep a lookout for these facial foams; they're great.
As for your diet, you should stay away from oily food cos the more oil you take in, the more oily your skin will get and that's when your pimples start popping up.
Drink cranberry juice - it's good for your complexion. Eat lots of leafy vegetables and juicy fruits - I dunno why are they so good but that's what I eat for a nice complexion.
Always drink at least 2litres of water a day. Keeping yourself hydrated prevents pimple outbreak.
Cleanse your face twice a day - once in the morning, once and night. Mask twice a week - spread it out, dun mask on consecutive days. Put moisturiser after you've cleansed your face. Don't stay out too long in the sun because excessive exposure to the sun causes pimple outbreak. Keep your hands/hair off your face cos your fingers/hair have bacteria on them.
Lastly, go see a dermotologist if you have to. WHY? Because your face will DEFINITELY clear up after consuming their medicine.
