tiredness

Question Posted Wednesday June 27 2007, 2:04 pm

Recently I've been needing a lot of sleep. I've been getting about thirteen hours a day, if not more. I'm absolutely exhausted and cannot get up any earlier. I don't feel otherwise sick.
My question: is this a symptom of any sicknesses or anything?

First of all it could be anything because there are about 70 different types of medical sleeping disorders, so if you think its something serious then maybe get a blood test? if you hate those things, because i hate them a lot and im like so scared of them haha. but you should maybe look up something like "sleeping disorders" on google? i sort of have that also i could go to bed at 10pm and wake up at about noon. sometimes it could acctually be lack of Iron for your blood. this is something from google "Iron-deficiency anaemia is a common and easily treated condition that occurs when there is not enough iron in the body. It is the most common type of anaemia. A lack of iron in the body can come from bleeding, not eating enough foods that contain iron, or not absorbing enough iron from food that is eaten." or just tell your parents/doctor if you feel you need to look in to this. but trust me, millions of people have sleeping problems so your defidently not alone. good luck :]

There could be a lot of reasons for your exhaustion but I'd really suggest that you go see your doctor and get some simple lab tests done. It could possibly be that you're anemic or have a thyroid problem and these are easily remedied. You also just may be stressed out and over-tired because of something going on in your life and this could be making you feel this way.
So, go see your doctor and let him or her know what's going on then see what they say. I wish you all the best, take care.

You are oversleeping and that results in being exhausted and making you even more sleepy.
You need about 9 hours of sleep a night.
And you should go to bed before 11:00 because between eleven and one is when your body is recharging naturally.
:D
I hope it works.
