I'm having trouble sleeping, it feels like I'm never tired, and when I am, I still can't fall asleep. I'm not having nightmares, or scary thoughts, I'm just not being able to sleep. Like I'll shut my eyes for over 3 hours, and still be awake, and it's really annoying. Any ideas what wrong????? Oh and by the way my bed and pillow are comfortable, so thats not a problem either. Thanks!
- Avoid sugar, caffeine, exercise, and eating close to bedtime.
- Do something relaxing before bed. Stretch, listen to quiet music, take a bath.
- Try using lavender products, for some reason they help people sleep. Bath and Body Works has a good Lavender Vanilla spray, lotion, and oil, put some on or spray a bit on your pillow.
- If all else fails, try Melatonin supplements. Available at Trader Joe's and anywhere that sells supplements, you take a 500mg chewable a half hour before bed and it really helps. [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]

The_MoUsY_spell_checker answered Wednesday June 27 2007, 1:34 am: How much exercise do you get during the day? Try doing more exercise. Any exercise you like will do. (Don't do this if you already get a lot of exercise.)
Avoid caffeine and sugar (except for fruit), especially after 4 in the afternoon or so.
If you can help it, don't use the computer in the evening. Read a book instead.
Drinking milk may also help you fall asleep (unless you're lactose intolerant - don't drink milk if that's the case).

What I did when I had trouble falling asleep, I would switch my pillows and blankets so that my head was at the foot of the bed.
I know, sounds strange, but it worked for me. I can't explain to you why it did, because I really have no clue.
It may not work for you, but may be worth a shot, anyhow.
