I've had a lot of professions in the past I DREAMED of doing. But realized I'd never be good enough to pursue them. Don't lecture me on that, that's not what I'm talking about.
Doing advicenators, and even it's as simple as just answering people's questions, I love doing it. I love helping my friends with their problems as well.
Which led me into thinking.. wow, I would LOVE to be a counselor/psychatrist(Sorry for spelling.)
Okay, and a couple days ago, I told my boyfriend one of my advice column entries, but it's one where it didn't really involve much advice, just thought, and I made it into a funny/sarcastic answer. He thought I was serious about it and didn't think it was good advice. Anyways, I told him today about my idea for the counseling/phystrist[sp] thing. And he was like "People would hate you, the ones who think they dont need help." And I was like, "Well, I'll help realize they need help and do my best to help! Haha." And then he was like, "No offense.. but you're not the best at giving advice."
Is he serious??
Or is it just because of the one entry I told him about??
He's never had problems to come to me about, so I never have given him advice.
I'm about to ask my friends if they think I'd be a good counselor/pshytrist.[sp!ack.]
Anyways, what do you think?
My advice column is Genrawks2, by the way.
Bleh, sorry for length.
And I know it's pathetic that I can't even spell the profession I wish to pursue. Lmfao.
Psyhtrist?
Phsycrist?
Oh god. >_< Maybe it's a sign that I'm not fit for it.
i friggen <3 it. lol. you give great advice and present it in a funny yet effetive way sometimes, yet you ALWAYS get the point across. you dont beat around the bush, and tht's what is needed in a counsilor/phyciatrist (i can't spell it either). people need to be told the truth, not sugar-coated crap.
tell your boyfriend to read your whole column, and slap him for me if he still thinks that your advice sucks.
runawayxlove answered Tuesday June 26 2007, 10:41 pm: Hey, well i just took the time to read your column. I actually really like your advice! I think that you should show your boyfriend your whole entire column and let him read some more of your advice. That way he can see the funny answers and the meaningful ones. Why dont you ask your boyfriend yourself why he thinks that you would make a bad advice giver. He is your boyfriend, so communication shouldnt be a problem. Welll, anyway, I thought that you gave good advice, and put a light hearted twist to it-- there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you know the time to be serious and the time to goof around-- then kudos to you.
