HAIR

Question Posted Monday June 25 2007, 8:30 pm

My hair is really dry and damaged.
I straighten it everyday.
I know that ruins the hair and everything, but if I don't, it's VERY poofy/frizzy and just looks awful.

So does anyone have any shampoos, conditioners, or hair products that would be useful for my hair?

Thanks in advance.

if you arent doing anything one day, than just dont straigten it! you need to let your hair just be from time to time. And also if you arent doing anything, put hot olive oil on your hair and it makes your hair so soft taking away all split ends! Also, when washing your hair, put ALOT of conditioner in.. and leave it while you do everything else. i used to straighten my hair all the time, and it was so FRIED! but now i still straighten it all the time, and ive been doing what i told you to do, and its so much healthier!!

well if you start to straighten your hair when its the slightest bit damp then it will prevent damage. It dosnt really matter what kind of shampoo or conditionor you use, just make sure you use it every time you go in the showerr

I highly reccomend Garnier Fructisse (the one for dry/damaged hair).
I straighten my hair every day too, and my hair is poofy and frizzy without it as well. I understand, lol.
Garnier Fructisse products work very well. Look for anything moisturizing on the bottle of whichever shampoo you use. They have shine stuff you can put on your hair so it looks less damaged...You might consider a wet/dry straightener if you don't already have one. You don't have to use it on your hair when it's wet (I never do), but somehow it helps get rid of the dry feeling straightening can sometimes give your hair.
You can also take a bit of conditioner (leave in or not) - like, a pea size, after you're done straightening, rub it between your hands and smooth your hair with it. That helps too.
Good luck!

Shampoo-Pantene Pro-V Frizz Control. It works great and smells great aswell.

Heat Protection Spray-Dove Intense Damage Therapy Spray. It works REALLY good, I have gotten rid of almost all the frizz in my hair!

I deffiantly know what your dealing with. I straighten my hair everday as well. I use the Garnier Frutis shampoo and conditioner. Go to the drugstore and look at the different products. Thermasilk is a good product. But there are tons of products in the stores that help reduce the dry hair. Garnier Frutis has several and those really work. Anything you buy will help. If your swimming alot in a chlorinated pool put the product in your hair before you swim. It will help alot. Also maybe look at a different straightener. I have a CHI and that works fantasic and it doesn't dry out the hair as much. It's very pricy but if the straighter ever breaks you send it back and they will give you a new one. Also in the drug stores they sell shampoos for dry damaged hair and that will help. There is also a treatment to help dry hair, it's like a face mask but it goes on your hair. Those can cost from 15-100 dollars. They might sell those locally but the better kinds you need to buy online! Good luck! :)
