I'm a ballerina, and my dance studio doesn't let you wear anything over your leotards (shorts, chiffon skirts, etc. NOTHING). Whenever I wear a tampon (i use playtex sport) with my tights/leotard it leaks onto the tights and you can see the blood around my inner thighs. It's embarassing. I can't wear a pad though because I can't wear underwear with my tights.
LadyH answered Sunday June 24 2007, 9:37 pm: Perhaps try a different brand? You could also try Super or Super Plus tampons by Kotex. You should have no problem with that absorabant of a tampon. But if you are still having leakage within a few hours with that, you might want to see a doctor for heavy periods. [ LadyH's advice column | Ask LadyH A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Sunday June 24 2007, 8:10 pm: get some more absorbent tampons. also, since you're wearing a leotard, you should try wearing a pantiliner, or even getting the pads without wings so nothing shows. is there any way that during rehearsal you can go to the bathroom? probably not, but that's also an option. but they do make pads that you can wear under swimsuits and stuff, they are the same size as pantiliners but more absorbent. i would try those for safety. clouded_bluee answered Sunday June 24 2007, 7:56 pm: You could try a different type of tampon, not the sport kind, and a bigger kind, like the super. Also, you could change it right before your practice and after you pee, that sometimes causes it to leak. If you want to wear a pad but are afraid of it showing, wear a panty liner. They are thin and won't show, but will deffinatly help. I'm sure you can wear that with your leotard, with out underwear. Hope I helped! LM answered Sunday June 24 2007, 7:54 pm: Try getting some netural-toned underwear [like, not lime green] and wearing them under your tights, so you could wear a pad or liner. If you don't TELL anyone you're wearing underwear, I doubt they'll notice a thing. [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
