Do meals made in slow cookers use a lot of electricity when they cook for 8-10 hours?

"Slow Cookers: Small appliances often use energy far more efficiently than full size ovens or cooktops. A slow cooker (or crockpot) running for 10 hours burns less than a dime's worth of electricity, or at California prices, maybe a quarter."

It depends on what brand you have.
A lot of them heat up and then are just so well insulated that as long as you don't take the cover off it just maintains temperature without electricity. Some cheaper ones just suck more electricity than sluts suck dick. Normally the instruction booklet will tell you. Otherwise you could call/email/check the website of the manufacturer.

If you need to have it on for 8-10 hours, then obviously the electricity use will add up. Check the power rating of your cooker to see how much it uses. If you don't have the user's manual, check the vendor's website.
