What is the difference between freckles and moles? Im confused because my dad said moles are raised, but in a magazine they should a healthy mole that didnt appear to be raised.
Said to be the 'kisses of Angels'. They are not raised at all and are generally darker than the normal skin colour of the person (like tanned skin but this can vary between each person. Some people will have lots of freckles and others will have very little and I believe the only way to get rid of them is through lazer surgery (much like getting rid of a tattoo). Freckles are not any kind of condition or anything like that (just thoguht I'd add that). :]
Moles can vary and some can be raised and others are not so raised but your dad is correct in what he said. Most people have moles that are very small or not raised that much at all (in a magazine pictures are edited as well as the makeup that's gone into the person who is having their picture taken - they can make them appear however they need them to appear). One person I know who has a mole who I can think of off the top of my head is Robert De Niro...

I have moles all over my body. Before you get grossed out, they are not raised, gross looking things. They are dark freckles, just like small, round, brown dots. My doctor has confirmed this. She told me freckles are those like discolorations pale persons usually get when they get too much sun. They are usually much lighter in color. Oh, and moles can be raised also.
