I didn't know what category this would go in, but... My birthday is on JUne 24th. I wanted to have a get together with my friends, just 6. My mom says no. She wants to go out for my birthday with her, my dad, and sister. I hate family birthday parties because first, they embarress me worse than watching Tellatubies with a five year old in front of 6 million people! Second, my dad always yells at me and hurts me on my birthday's. I've only had 2 birthday parties my entire life! And now I'm turning 13, but my family says parties are for babies! Can somebody help me?! I want to convince my mom that I want just 6 friends over and stay the night! I really want a good 13th birthday party! (Yes, I know. Your thinking, I thought you're only supposed to be 13 to be on this site. Hey! Technaiclly, i am 13!)
infatuatedxxglamour answered Thursday June 21 2007, 7:05 pm: Try asking to have your friends over the day before or day after, that way you can still have a family birthday party on your actual birthday. Family parties aren't thaaat bad, as long as you're not in public. Try to convince them to have a cookout and cake at home, or a restaurant that nobody your age goes to.
If worst comes to worst, explain your situation to one of your better friends and ask one them to have the sleepover over their house. They should understand.
