mwalnutss answered Wednesday June 20 2007, 8:28 pm: the "wheeler" person that answered this pisses me off. no hunny, there not dangerous, they are perfectly harmless. freckles are effected by sun. it has something to do with your pigment (spelling?). but freckles can change into moles... or something like that. idk much about it. but my half sister had alot of freckles then got a couple moles. and now she has cancer. and the docter gave her like 30 days to live :/. but the docter said to her she was out in the sun tooo much and thats what cause both freckles and the moles. so just watch out for the moles. lol. they cause cancer. so yeah hope i helped. xokristabelle answered Wednesday June 20 2007, 7:59 pm: Well, technically they are harmless.
However, both freckles and tans are a sign of sun damage. People who are prone to freckles tend to be more prone to sun damage and skin cancer.
ashlynn answered Wednesday June 20 2007, 7:32 pm: Their harmless. You get a lot of freckles after sun exposure because of the increase of pigment in your skin. What you need to watch out for is unusual moles. An appearance of a mole or a change in a mole you already have can be a sign of skin cancer. If you have an issue with a mole, see a doctor. But don't even worry about freckles. [ ashlynn's advice column | Ask ashlynn A Question ]
