what's a good straightener that works really well? ****PLEASE**** do not say *CHI*, *SOLIA*, OR ANY STRAIGHTENER OVER $45. sorry if i'm sounding overly-dramatic, but i really have like no money and i need a straightener badly and never in my life will i spend more than 45 or 50 bucks, (not even 50) on a straightener. thanks so much!
Shortcake22 answered Thursday June 21 2007, 4:02 pm: Okay. I have had many, many flat irons, all ranging in price. Now. I HATE Wet2Straight. It didn't leave my hair very smooth and flat. The best brand of hair straighteners that is in your price range that I have tried is Conair. I got one for 40 bucks at Sally's Beauty Supply, and it is the best straightener that I've had in your price range.
That being said, you are going to get what you pay for. A lot of people think that a 20 dollar straightener will do the same thing as a 90 dollar chi. That is NOT TRUE. Go use a wet2straight, then use a chi, and you will see the difference. Not only do higher quality flat irons straighten your hair better, they help prevent damage to your hair, they help keep out friz, and they drastically cut down the time it takes to straighten your hair. PLUS, they are less likely to break, and some come with a guarantee. I used to buy cheaper flat irons, 30-40 bucks, and they always either sucked or broke, so I ended up spending way more money then I should have. Then, I spent 100 dollars on a straightener, and I've had it for 2 years and it's amazing. Now I'm not trying to talk you into a chi or any other expensive straightener, but I do want you to make a wise investment. So think about what you're buying before you go and spend your money.

infatuatedxxglamour answered Wednesday June 20 2007, 7:34 pm: CoverGirl is amazinggg... your hair comes out straight, but not that damaged-looking bushy straight. And it doesn't get damaged easily. But don't let it fool you, it will eventually... it took me 3 months, straightening every day... but then it got damaged fast and I was screwed lol. I think its $25, I got mine at Target. Maddieeeee answered Wednesday June 20 2007, 7:16 pm: I do fine with the "Conair" I have right now, they're cheap and won't burn your hair off. I wouldn't spend 50 bucks on a straightener either when you can go pick up one from Wal-mart and use it and it's exactly the same. [ Maddieeeee's advice column | Ask Maddieeeee A Question ]
