what's the difference between 256/64kbps and 1500/256kbps internet? i mean is the 1500/256kbps more faster than the other? because im using bigpond internet and i want to know which ones faster becuase currently MY INTERNET IS SO SLOW (AT DOWNLOADING STUFF). GOSH!! can someone please help!!! - please tell me (again) what's the difference between 256/64kbps and 1500/256kbps?
Long answer: It's download/upload. They're both important, download more so. The units are kilobits per second. 1 kiloBYTE(KB), the unit you hear most often=8kiloBIT(Kb), the unit used in internet speed. Notice the different capitalization in the abbreviations.
A music file, which is around 4 megabytes(4096 kilobytes, 32768 kilobits) will take about 128 seconds to download on 256/64 and 21 seconds on 1500/256. It will actually be a little slower, however, because the upload speed holds back the download speed; your computer needs to request each new packet, which uses your upload. Go for the 1500/256 kbps
