S_C answered Wednesday June 20 2007, 11:33 am: Where I am there's a debate going around about that. I sent a text to a friend and I must have hit send one too many times because she received like 5 of them. She said she only opened the 1st one so she wouldn't have to be charged.
I'm honestly not 100% sure, you're best off asking whomever your plan is for. I am currently with alltel and cingular (I have 2 cells right now) so I would go to both of them and find out.
Another way to do it, if you don't get free text messaging (With cingular I get 200/month and alltel I get 500/month) then just check your next bill. For an entire month keep track of how many texts you open and what you (in your mind) should be charged for. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
