want to lose 10 pounds

Question Posted Sunday June 17 2007, 3:46 pm

okay, im 13/f.
i am 5'1. and i weigh 121.
i dont have a certain time, in which i want to lose weight, but id like to be less than 110 by the time school starts. (august 14).
but i wont freak if im like 113 by then instead. haha.
does anyone know a good diet that works well.
i find myself eating when im bored, which def. have to stop doing, and im cutting out as much carbs as a can, because thats what my mom said to do.
my main problem areas are my thighs and lower stomach.
its just enough to make me uncomfortable at the beach. :/
also a good workout plan.
i just found out we have a treadmill. haha, i didnt even know.
so how long do i go on it for.
should i run, jog, or walk on it? which works better?
also how many times a week should i go on it?
and some good workouts i could just do in my room or something would also be good.
thank you so much for reading and answering. <3

Just try to find a diet you enjoy.
When i try to cut back on what i eat i find it fun, and i feel better about myself, so its not as hard. Dont really think of it as a diet, because alot of people say that they eat better when they ARENT on a diet. Just dont think about eating as much, and just eat a big breakfast a small lunch, snack on fruits, DRINK ALOT OF WATER, dont eat after 6. or maybe just 8. walking fast works really good, becuase it burns much more calories.
some good workouts for you too do in your room would be sit ups, pushups, look it up on google for some ideas to tighten your stomache. buy an exercizing video!! and make sure you do like 30 minutes a day at the leaasstt!
controll your portion sizes. because its really not about waht you eat, its how much you eat! and i know that its so easy to eat when your bored, but just really try to controll yourself and i think it feels really good to do that. Like, just tell yourself NO! when you open the refrigarator. when you watch tv start doing sit ups and stuff. find things to do. haha okay i keep going on and on.. but i really hope to help and i hope everything turns out good!

Ok....now low carb diets work great. if you are bored chew some sugarfree gum, or eat a vegetable such as celery. As for the treadmill...start off with say a 5 minute walk, then jog or run at a pace you can keep up for say at least 20 minutes. Do that 5 times a week. In your room, do crunches, leglifts, and other ab exercises.

Your mom is right, cut out the carbs! Those are what cause the major fat build up. I would recommend picking up some 100 Calorie packs from the supermarket, they're healthy, and I know that they have a lot of choices now. Fruits are also good. If you're eating when you're bored, pick up some sugar free gum to satisfy your chewing craving. Try jogging on the treadmill, walking may not be enough, and running may run you down. If jogging seems too easy to you, then step it up and start running. I would say to run for about 30 minutes a day to start. Either break that up throughout the day, or all at once. If you're not tired after 30 minutes, then keep going. Start running more and more as you progress in your diet. Crunches/Sit ups are AMAZING fo getting rid of belly fat, and you'll develop some good muscles in your stomach, which will look good on the beach! Hope I helped, and good luck on your weight-loosing endeavor!
